HASTINGS, Selina, Countess of Huntingdon (1707-1791). Founder of 'Lady Huntingdon's Connection'.
Autograph Letter Signed to English, 2 pages 4to with address-leaf tipped onto the second blank sheet (traces of former mounting in the margin), Bath, 28 March no year [ca 1789]. Sending him a cheque, complimenting him on his 'labours' and describing her recent indisposition.
'... I bless the Lord I am recovering tho slowly but it is with difficulty ... .'

The Countess was converted to Methodism by her sister-in-law, Lady Margaret Hastings, and became an intimate of the Wesleys.
