[STOCKDALE, John] (1749?-1814). Publisher.
Autograph Letter Signed addressed to Stockdale and signed 'Corregidore', 2 pages 4to with integral address-leaf (spike-hole, folds fragile), no place, no date [watermark 1804]. An anonymous complaint of the inadequate and inaccurate treatment of the Rokeby family in the latest issue of Debrett's.
'... Dr Robinson was a clergyman of the same name, raised to the rank of primate of Ireland and made Ld Rookby of Armagh in 1777. This is the true state of this gentlemans family, and so it should be stated, and all the romance about Kings or Lords of the isles, & chevy chase thrown out. ...'
