GEORGE III (1738-1820). King of England.
Attractive Document Signed ('George R.') at the head, 1 page folio (oblong) on vellum (paper seal and blue revenue stamp), given at St James's, 5 March 1794. Appointing Robert Whitburn a Lieutenant in the volunteer company to be associated in the parish of St George, Hanover Square. Countersigned by Henry Dundas, 1st Lord Melville, at that time Secretary of War.
'... but not to take part in the Army except during the time of the said Company being called out into actual service. ...'
