BELLOC, Hilaire (1870-1953). Author.
Autograph Letter Signed ('Si Vales Valeo / Auctor'), 2 pages 8vo (card from former mounting adhering to the back), 104 Cheyne Walk, 10 January 1903 (foxed). Thanking him for his letter ('Not all the newspaper criticism in the world is worth a good letter spontaneous from a man that feels with me'), and admitting that writing Italian verse is beyond his capabilities.
A note on the back explains that the letter is in reponse to one written to him, partly in Latin verse, after the recipient had read Belloc's The Path to Rome.
