WIDOR, Charles Marie (1845-1937). French organist and composer. Autograph Manuscript Signed of a substantial part of the Adagio from the 5th Organ Symphony, Opus 13 and 42, 1 page small folio, corners trimmed, undated. Ten bars on four systems of three staves each, carefully written in ink with only one correction (bar 7) and slight differences from the printed edition of J Hamelle (after Maison J Maho), Paris. The Adagio is the fourth movement, preceding the famous Toccata. It is a short piece, of only 32 bars, in C major. The present manuscript, evidently written with some pains as an autograph fair copy, differs from the published edition only in the layout of the parts between the staves in bar four, and in dynamic markings ('Cresc.' for 'poco cresc' in bar 6, and 'Sempre Cresc' for 'cresc.' in bar 9) making the composer's intentions a little more clear.
