HUXLEY, Sir Julian Sorell (1887-1975). Polymath.
Huxley's copy of 'Drugs and the Mind' by Robert S de Ropp, Victor Gollancz, London, 1958, cloth bound. Heavily annotated throughout in both pen and pencil, with further notes following the bibliography. His own 'index' is written on the end papers.
Huxley's interest in the subject was stimulated by his brother Aldous's study and use of drugs. The chapter dealing with 'The Mind and Mescaline' uses Aldous Huxley as a respected reference, quoting him extensively.
