JUXON, William (1582-1663). Archbishop of Canterbury. Directed restoration of St Paul's.
Document Signed ('Guil: London') with autograph insertion, ½-page folio, (small tears at edge), London House, 28 December 1636. From the Rawlins Collection. Ordering Sir Robert Pye to issue the amount of £320 12s 8d (added in Juxon's hand) to Sir William Uvedale, Treasurer of the King's Chamber, for the payment of listed servants of the Royal Household.
'... there is due to the Gentlemen Ushers, Yeomen Ushers, Yeomen Hangers, Groome, Porter, and Bedd-Carriers to the Queenes Mtie for divers services by them done, within the space of three years ended at Micha[elma]s 1633: The some of six hundred and Twentie pounds, twelve shillings, Eight pence. ...'
Juxon, as well as serving as Bishop of London was Lord High Treasurer.
