Typewritten Letter Signed with autograph additions to J.L. Garvin, 1½ pages 4to on separate leaves, (rust-mark in top left corner), St Martin's Street, 30 June 1927. Expressing relief that the government's 'mad plan' for parliamentary reform had been stopped, and recommending a book for review.
'... we feel, from the political point of view, that there is no chance at present that either the House of Lords or the House of Commons will agree to a completely remodelled Second Chamber on a purely elective basis. ...'
J.L. Garvin (1868-1947) was editor of the Observer and an influential political journalist.
