ANGLESEY, Sir Henry William Paget, Marquess of of (1768-1854). Field Marshal, lost a leg at Waterloo.
Autograph Letter (signed at the foot) to the doorkeeper of the House of Lords, 1 page 8vo, no date. 'Admit the Revd Mr. Branfoot to the Gallery of the House of Lords on Thursday the 1st of February / Anglesey.'

Letters of this remarkable soldier, diplomat, adulterer and duellist, perhaps best known for his remark to the Duke of Wellington on 18 June 1815 'By God, sir, I've lost my leg', are rarely seen on the market.
