DIDOT, Firmin (1764-1836). French printer and typefounder.
Autograph Letter Signed ('Firmin Didot') in French to Claude Fauriel (1772-1844, French historian and philologist), 2 pages 8vo with integral address-leaf, Paris, 23 December 1809. Suggesting alterations to a passage in Fauriel's translation of Baggensen's Parthenais, then in the press (published in 1810).

Letters of Didot seem rarely to be found on the market. Only one example (this letter, when sold at Christie's in 1978) has been recorded in auction records for the last forty years.
