Autograph Letter Signed to Miss Manby, 1½ pages 8vo with autograph envelope initialled in the lower left hand corner, Sevenoaks, 6 November 1931. Acknowledging receipt of her letter and expressing regret that work commitments prevent him from visiting her in Worcestershire.
'Among the many letters from strangers it is delightful to find one from so old a friend as you: I am indeed grateful to you for writing. It would be such a pleasure to see you again but alas! I am so seldom in Worcestershire and I am always immersed in my work. But old friends are always in my mind. ...'

Baldwin had recently taken up the prestigious non-departmental post of Lord President of the Council for the newly formed National Government, acting effectively as Leader of the House.
