MARSH, Ngaio (1895-1982). New Zealand crime writer.
Autograph Letter Signed to [E. Stanley] Jones, 2 pages small 4to, Montpelier Square, 4 August 1971. A lively letter apologising for the delay in responding due to his letter having taken some time to reach her on her travels.
'Your letter of 10th June has travelled round the world before finally coming to roost here where I am staying until I return to New Zealand later this year. I'm afraid you will have written me off as a most churlish author. ...'
Marsh remained a prodigious writer until her death, producing eleven novels featuring the detective-inspector Roderick Alleyn between 1965 and 1981.
