GRAHAM, William Franklin ('Billy') (b. 1918). American evangelist.
Typewritten Letter Signed ('Billy') to Frank D. [sic for 'O'] Salisbury, 1 page 4to, 4 December 1956. Recalling his 'honor and privilege' in sitting for Salisbury a year ago.

The painter Frank O. Salisbury was remarkably successful in the United States, making thirteen visits there in his lifetime. He painted five Presidents (Franklin D. Roosevelt remaining as the official White House portrait to this day). Billy Graham's sitting for Salisbury took place during his 10-day tour of the United Kingdom which included preaching to packed churches in Oxford and Cambridge.
