FOX, Charles James (1749-1806). Politician.
Autograph Letter Signed to an unnamed peer, 1 page 8vo (inlaid), Arlington Street, 'Sunday Night', no date. Summoning him to an urgent meeting.
'I received your note & will certainly attend tomorrow. Vansittart [Nicholas Vansittart, first Baron Bexley (1766-1851, politician] is aware of the circumstance & will no doubt have taken measures for attendance. You are all summoned to a Cabinet at my office tomorrow at two. The nature of the business is such as to make me very desirous of your & Erskine's attendance if possible. ...'
The reference to Erskine is probably to Thomas Erskine, first Baron Erskine (1750-1823, lord chancellor) an intimate friend of Fox's.

With an engraved portrait by J.W. Cook after Reynolds.
