GEORGE VI (1895-1952). King of Great Britain, Ireland, and the British Dominions.
Brief Autograph Letter Signed ('Albert') on a correspondence-card (the signature and subscription on the reverse) to 'Dear Bishop', York Cottage, Sandringham, 25 December 1917. Thanking him for his 'Xmas card' and good wishes ('May I send you the same in return').

Perhaps demonstrating the sense of duty of the royal family, in that the note is dated on Christmas Day. Or maybe there was little to do until the traditional Sandringham Shoot the following day.
