2 Autograph Letters Signed to an unnamed correspondent, 2 pages 8vo, Bonchurch Hotel, Isle of Wight, and West House, April 1880. Commenting on a photographic rendering of one of his paintings and offering suggestings for improvement.
'The yellow of the grain field comes out so black in spots - that I think it would be well if the Engraver would keep that portion much lighter. ...'
Approving of a proof of 'Evangeline': 'Many thanks for giving me an opportunity of altering it.'
