VICTORIA (1819-1901). Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
Document Signed, 1 page folio on vellum with papered seal, given at St James's, 17 March 1847. Slight foxing and a little worn at the edges. Appointing Eaton Monins to the rank of major-general in the army. Countersigned by Fox Maule[-Ramsay], second baron Panmure and eleventh earl of Dalhousie ('Panmure'), secretary of state for war.

The document is signed 'Victoria R'. The queen did not sign 'Victoria RI' until 1876.
