GEORGE IV (1762-1830). King of Great Britain and Ireland and king of Hanover.
Document Signed ('George PR') as Prince Regent, 1 page folio on vellum with papered seal, given at Carlton House, 23 February 1815. Appointing William Monins captain in the 18th regiment of light dragoons commanded by Charles Marquis of Drogheda. Countersigned by Henry Addington, Viscount Sidmouth (1757-1844, formerly prime minister, as home secretary).

Charles Moore, first marquess of Drogheda (1730-1822) was nearing the end of his life. He had entered the army in 1744 and fought at Culloden (16 April 1746). He was colonel of the 19th (subsequently 18th) light dragoons from 1762 until 1821.
