GEORGE III (1738-1820). King of the United kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
Document Signed, 1 page folio on vellum with papered seal, given at St James's, 31 January 1810. Appointing William Monins to be a lieutenant in the 52nd or Oxfordshire regiment of foot commanded by major-general Hildebrand Oakes.

Sir Hildebrand Oakes (1754-1822) had served in America under Cornwallis, was present at the attack on Charleston in June 1776 and did not return to England until May 1784. In May 1810 he was appointed to the the civil and military commissionership of the island of Malta.
