Autograph Letter Signed to Brian Carter, 1 page 8vo, Déya, Majorca, 18 November [1968], together with a photograph inscribed and signed on the reverse. The photograph measures 105 x 70mm (4 x 2½ inches) and shows Graves half-profile in pensive mood.

'Sorry, but I lost the photograph in a deluge of unanswered letters when I came back from the Olympic Games. ...'

Graves had been awarded a gold medal at the Mexico Olympic Games for one of his poems. He was, at this time, Oxford Professor of Poetry.
