DU MAURIER, Daphne (1907-1989). Novelist.
Typewritten Letter Signed on both sides of a postcard, Kilmarth, Par, Cornwall, 30 January 1974. Sending a printed copy of a list of her books, torn from one of her paperbacks, and explaining that she has put a cross beside those she feels are 'perhaps rather better than their fellows'.

The books she singles out are The House on the Strand, Rebecca, The King's General, My Cousin Rachel, The Scapegoat, The Flight of the Falcon and The Progress of Julius, but neither Jamaica Inn nor Frenchman's Creek.
'... Excuse typing, I have never employed a secretary, with the consequences you see! ...'
