DRINKWATER, John (1882-1937). Playwright and poet.
SHAKESPEARE, Autograph Manuscript 128 pages 8vo in a small hand, in a cloth-bound notebook with slip-case. The complete manuscript with authorial alterations throughout, mostly written on rectos only (versos not numbered).

Inscribed inside the front cover 'For my darling Davy / J.D. / October 1932' with the table of contents opposite and the dedication (to Archibald Flower) on a further preliminary leaf. The work itself commences with the Prologue on page 1. The book was published by Duckworth, London 1933, in the Great Lives series.
