CUVIER, Baron Georges (1769-1832). French naturalist.
Diploma of batchelor of letters, signed 'B.G. Cuvier' in ink, 1 page large folio (310 x 405 mm., 12 x 16 inches) with papered seal, Paris 2 October 1824. On vellum printed with an elaborate border, headed 'Université de France.

The certificate was awarded to Frederic Geoffroi Diehl, who is recorded as having been born at Strasbourg on 6 October 1804, and is signed by Cuvier in his capacity as grand master 'à l'égard des Facultés de Théologie protestantes'. Three further counter-signatures.
