MACLISE, Daniel (1806-1870). Historical painter.
Autograph Letter Signed to the art dealer [Ernest] Gambart, 1 page 8vo with integral blank leaf, 14 Russell Place, Fitzroy Square, 8 December 1858. Asking him to advance the sum of £500 by Christmas ('I shall have to speak definitively to Thomas').

'... I could give up to you the drawings, and then there would be £200 which perhaps you might pay a month later. Meantime if you wish another transaction with me - I could complete the picture you know of at my leisure.'
