RATHBONE, Eleanor Florence (1872-1946). Social reformer.
Typewritten Letter Signed to N.P. Macdonald, 1 page 4to (rust mark in corner), 50 Romney Street, 6 September 1934. Declining to contribute to Macdonald's book on patriotism, though wishing it well.

'... I am just starting off for a visit to Palestine ... After that I shall be fully immersed in the work of the new Parliamentary Session in which several of the Bills likely to be brought forward will concern me particulaly. ...'

Rathbone's visit to Palestine had a profound effect on her. She was deeply impressed with the equal role of women and the Jewish settlers' educational and social institutions.
