HILLER, Ferdinand (1811-1885). German composer and conductor.
Autograph Letter Signed to an unnamed correspondent, 3 pages 12mo, no place, 'Thursday 5 o'clock', no date. Lamenting his inability to see his correspondent that evening, expressed in his charming if not exactly accurate English, and asking his correspondent to accept an invitation on his behalf ('I can't read the name').

'... I am desperated - but I can't change it. Perhaps a rehearsal can be done after tomorrow - in every case I will report from here Thursday ...'
