Autograph Letter Signed in purple ink to 'My dear Yearsley', 1½ pages 8vo, 33 Lavender Gardens, Clapham Common, 'Sunday', no date. Explaining that he has been unwell and is only waiting for the arrivial of the proofs of his new book before going away, but that he would attend a meeting, although not dinner, if possible.

'... I am only waiting for the remainder of the proofs of my last book before going away. I may get them by the end of this week. In which case I shall start at once. If however they do not come as soon as I hope, I might wait till I do. So please let me leave it altogether open. ...'
