MEDIEVAL DOCUMENT - 13th century
Grant by William Bate de Goldale to Ra[?dulphus] Fomorie of one selion (small strip) of land in Lundcroft [near Pollington, Yorkshire]. Fourteen lines, on vellum, small stains not affecting the text, small fragment missing from upper left hand corner, notes in ink (twentieth-century) on the reverse, 110 x 180 mm. (c. 4½ x 7½ inches, lacking seal).

Witnesses: ?John de Heton, Henry de Hecke [Heck], Thomas de Snayth [Snaith], John de Goldale and his brother Edward, William de Goldale and others.

A fine early document in a particularly attractive hand.
