ANSDELL, Richard (1815-1885). Animal painter.
Autograph Letter Signed to an unnamed correspondent ('My Dear Sir'), 3 pages 8vo, Lytham House, St Alban's Road, Kensington, 8 May 1871.

'I have by me the two pictures I painted for Grant, both spanish, and the same size as the spanish picture of the goatherds sold at his sale - which Agnew bought and I am glad to say has sold it since.
'I never delivered the pictures - as I felt I should not be paid - yet! I always felt he would take them. Now! of course there is no chance and I feel justified in selling them. They have never been seen. Now! I have them in my rooms. ...'
