LIVINGSTONE, David (1813-1873). African missionary & explorer.
Autograph envelope, signed 'Dr Livingstone' in the lower left hand corner, addressed to The Under Secretary for War, postmarked 9 August 1865. An attractive example, of dark blue paper, unfortunately lacking the original letter, which may well have been in connection with the arrangments for what was to be Livingstone's last expedition of 1866-1873.
