ROSSINI, Gioachino (1792-1868). Composer. Autograph Letter Signed, in Italian, to Angelo Mignani in Bologna, 1 page 4to with integral address-leaf, remains of wafer seal and postal cancellations, Florence, 6 June 1853. Asking for an up-to-date report on his financial affairs which he had expected the previous month, in particular whether the arrangements made with his sister-in-law's agents have been effected as he desired, whether the final payment has been made, and asking for the details of the account he should use for his own expenses, adding that he knows his correspondent is busy, but he should not be surprised that those at a distance are more impatient than those close at hand ('... essa per• non vorrà trovar strano che i lontani siano più impazienti dei vicini ...') A handsome letter in Rossini's very dark ink, on 'Bath' blindstamped paper. [No: 25400] The image links to a larger or more detailed version.
