Autograph Letter Signed to Lady Holland, 3½ pages 8vo with the envelope front, 3 Bolton Street, 1 April, postmark 1884. Apologising at his usual length for being unable to visit her, and giving personal news.
'... Perhaps you know that I have been for a considerable part of the winter in Paris. I had heard you were unwell, & made an attempt to see you one Sunday afternoon, some time ago, when you first came up to town. Since then I have been hoping you were better - or that this is at any rate now the case. ...'
