GEORGE III (1738-1820). King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
Document Signed ('George R' at the head), 1 page large folio on vellum with paperd royal seal and revenue stamp, St James's, 16 March 1809. A little soiled overall and with the usual folds and creases. A commission for John Frankland to be a major 'to the sixty third (or the West Suffolk) Regiment of Foot'.
Countersigned by Robert Banks Jenkinson, second earl of Liverpool, at this time secretary for war and later prime minister.
