GEORGE IV (1762-1830). King of Great Britain and Ireland and king of Hanover.
Document Signed as king ('George R' at the head), 1 page folio (oblong, on vellum) with papered royal seal (a little faded and with signs of former mounting). Given at Carlton House, 20 April 1826, and countersigned at the foot by Sir Robert Peel, at this time home secretary and later prime minister.
Appointing John ?Wintersole 'to be Surgeon to our Sixtieth Regiment of Foot in the duke of Yor'ks own Rifle Corps'.
