STEAD, William Thomas (1849-1912). Journalist. Victim of the Titanic disaster.
Autograph Letter Signed on a postcard (a little soiled) to Miss Burnett, evidently one his employees at the Review of Reviews, 16 July 1898.
'Many thanks for your kind letter about our silver wedding. We have had lovely weather & are now returning having done very little letter writing during our absence. I do not know anything about the Baguse(?). Mrs Spender had it in charge & Mr S. has not asked me to do anything. We hope to see Chester tomorrow & to reach home late Friday night. On Saturday I hope to be at the office.'
Stead had left the Pall Mall Gazette in 1890 and founded his own monthly journal, the Review of Reviews
