Autograph Letter Signed to Dr Holland [(Sir) Henry Holland, 1788-1873, physician], 1 page 8vo on black-edged paper (a few small traces of mounting), Royal Institution, 16 January 1849. Explaining that he would be unable to show Holland an experiment.

'I was proposing to write to you to say that I hoped next Thursday (for the first time since I have seen you) to be able to show you the experiment whilst rehearsing some for next Friday week but now I fear through much occupation I shall not be ready ...'
