Group of four Autograph Letters Signed to various correspondents, 6 pages 4to & 3 pages 8vo, 1831 and 1837 where dated
Autograph Letter Signed to Messrs Ackerman(n) [publishers] in the Strand, 3½ pages 8vo with address (remains of mounting on reverse), 1837. Thanking them for copies of 'Weeds of Witchery', and reminding them gently that the title and idea of the work was entirely his own.
2 Autograph Letters Signed to Simon Digby in Brighton, 5 pages 4to, 1831 & no date Thanking him for a present, praising the song 'A place in thy memory dearest', and expressing his admiration of Digby's 'great friend' ('though I have not the honor of her acquaintance'). In the longer letter bewailing the total loss of the income promised to his wife by his father ('who so strangely deceived Mrs. Bayly's mother'), explaining his father's deceitful behaviour and his hope of restoring his wife's fortune, in part by publishing by subscription 'Musings & Prosings'.
Autograph Letter Signed to an unnamed correspondent, 1 page 4to (laid down), 18 Warwick Buildings, Worthing, no date Sending a draft payable in six months' time for £50, and asking for the smount to be sent with the interest deducted.
