GOULD, John (1804-1881). Ornithologist and publisher.
Autograph Letter Signed to Mr G. ?Linnecar, 2 pages 8vo with integral blank leaf, London, 26 January 1844. Explaining that he had been too busy to reply sooner, and thanking him for the gift of 'the Cottage Musicians' ('a work of very considerable merits').
Gould may be referring to the engraving of a painting of this name by William Kidd (1795/6-1863), which was engraved by W. Carlos in ?1835.
