GRAVES, Robert (1895-1985). Poet.
Autograph Letter Signed to Bryan Carter, 1 page 4to on thin paper, Canelluñ, Deya, Mallorca, 2 April 1971. Presenting Carter with an autograph poem, and commenting on the reception of his work in Germany.
'... In Germany they don't publish my poems (though I have sent them some very good translations) & think I have written only one book I Claudius instead of 135 which is the present score.
'... the new German 30 pfennig stamp has a portrait of me on it though discribed
[sic] as my great-grand-uncle Leopold von Ranke born 1795 (100 years before me). ...'
For some reason Graves also explains that R.T.Z. 'are after rare earths for nuclear weapons'.
