POWER, (William Grattan) Tyrone (1797-1841). Actor.
Autograph Letter Signed to Frank, 2 pages 8vo, no place, no date (blind stamp of R.B. Sheridan, Frampton, Dorset). Apparently written from a boat, Power laments the delay, caused by 'wayward winds' and sends greetings to various mutual friends.
'... when I write I'll give you accts of the animals clean & unclean with whom I am en-ark'd here forty pestiferous bodies to be stowed away in as many feet square. ...'
Possibly written from the President, sailing back from America. Power died on that voyage. The ship was lost at sea and no trace of it or its passengers was ever found.
