Regretting that they never meet, and asking for an address. '... I cannot bring myself to write Mr. Can you tell me, by a line to Cobham, Surrey, the address of Sally Norton? We want to catch her for a day or two before she goes back to America.'Matthew Arnold had been elected to the Athenaeum, from where he wrote many of his letters, as long ago as 1856.
