DU BARRY, Comtesse (Marie Jeanne Bécu) (1743-1793). Mistress of Louis XV.
Receipt signed ('la Comtesse du barry') and annotated by her, 1 page 8vo (oblong, neatly inlaid), Louveciennes, 10 January 1786.
Approving the payment by Mr Collibeaux of 700 livres to Mr Chardon for 'marchandises', the signature crossed through with diagonal strokes to show that the sum had been paid, crossed in lower left-hand corner 'bon pour 700 ll', annotated at foot in another hand 'M Colibeaux maison de la M[archan]de de Mode rue St Eustache'.
A receipt on the verso seems unrelated.
Provenance: from a collection formed by A.M. Broadley in 1903.
[No: 24933]
