FARADAY, Michael (1791-1867). Natural philosopher.
Autograph Letter Signed to Dr [later Sir Henry] Holland (1788-1873, physician), 1 page 8vo (a little unevenly torn at the left hand side), Royal Institution, 13 January 1846. Telling him that he would be at the Royal Society to demonstrate 'the fundamental experiments' the following Thursday, and that he hoped to see Holland at that time.
 Faraday had been elected to a fellowship of the Royal Society in 1824 and he subsequently received many honours from that institution, notably the Copley medal (twice), the royal medal (twice) and the Rumford medal. He was the Bakerian lecturer on five occasions.
