PITMAN, Sir Isaac (1819-1897). Deviser of a system of shorthand writing.
Autograph Letter (headed 'Eizak Pitman tu Wallace Braby' and signed 'Fairwel'), 2 pages 8vo, Bath, 22 February 1896. Using phonetic spelling, Pitman sends copies of 'Reminisenses', encloses some 'Kontrasts' for possible sale, and lists some new spellings designed to end confusion over homonyms.
