Autograph Letter Signed to the bookseller James Bohn (1803-1880), 1 page 8vo with address-leaf, no place, no date but before Bohn's business failure and move to St James's Street in 1845. Ordering a substantial number of books, perhaps from Bohn's celebrated catalogue of 1840.
'Will you be so kind as to send me the Buckland, the Byron, the Crusoe, the Lempriere bound if you have one , the Milton I shd. like bound also - send also if you please the german Dictionaary which you recommended and the Chaucer. Say when the ?Donegar & the Italian Dictionaries will be ready. ... If you can find the Chapman's Homer I shall be particularly glad ...'
Together with an envelope addressed to Bohn and inscribed 'with Mr Leigh Sotheby's compliments' [i.e. the auctioneer (1805-1861)].
