Document Signed ('approved G.R.' in an unsteady hand), 1 page 4to with integral docketed second leaf, no place, 8 January 1807. Seeking approval for the appointment of Lieutenant General Hay MacDowall to 'the Staff of the Army serving at Madras vice Sir John Craddock who has permission to return home'.
An added note indicates that Lord Lake and the India Board had been notified of the appointment on 12 January.
