PENGELLY, William (1812-1894). Geologist and archaeologist.
Autograph Letter Signed to Mr Wood, 4 pages 8vo, Lamorna, Torquay, 21 January 1867. Promising to call on Wood and Sir George Denys during his forthcoming visit to Bradford, but expressing some reservations.
'... to tell you the truth, I am rather afraid of you. I know you will ask me to lecture or something of the kind, a thing which I must not do on three consecutive nights as it tears my throat fearfully. ... I have to give a course of six lectures at the Royal Institution London and Thursdays & Saturdays from March 28th to April 13th inclusive. ...'
