NIEBUHR, Barthold George (1776-1831). German statesman and historian.
Autograph Letter Signed to an unnamed correspondent, 1 page 8vo (small split in one fold and some marginal annotations), no place 1 December 1830. With transcription and translation.
'It would be a great favour to me if you would be so kind as to instruct your agent in Leipzig
 "to enquire of Professor Hermann if Dr Emil Cuhe from Dresden, who was travelling from here to Dresden, has handed over a package he offered to deliver!"
 and further to enquire of Professor Blume in Halle "whether he has received a copy of my Part II with a letter!"
 If then Hermann has not received anything, it would be very kind if your agent could write to Dr Cuhe in Dresden and urge him to send the package'.
