CURZON, George Nathaniel, Marquess (1859-1925). Politician and viceroy of India.
Autograph Letter Signed to [Canon Sheppard], 6 pages 8vo, 1 Carlton House Terrace, with embossed Foreign Office seal, 12 April 1920. Asking Sheppard to participate in the marriage service of his daughter.
The daughter in question was Lady Cynthia Blanche Mosley. She became the first wife of Oswald Mosley on 11 May 1920, as heralded in the present letter, a disappointment to her father who had hopes of her marrying a peer.
