Fine early Document Signed ('George R.' at the head), 1 page folio (oblong, on vellum), blue revenue stamps, partly printed, St James's, 21 December 1760. Appointing Ronald McDonald a first lieutenant in the twentieth company of marines, countersigned by George, Baron Anson (1697-1762) and two others, with further endorsements. Small holes just touching two words of an endorsement. George III had succeeded to the throne on the death of his father, George II on 25 October 1760.
